Forkr Privacy Policy

Who we are

Forkr operates the Forkr iOS app and website. This policy covers both services. Forkr is intended for people age 13 and older in the United States.

Information we collect

• Account data: your Sign in with Apple identifier and, when Apple provides them, your name and email or private relay email.
• Preferences: dietary preferences, nutrition interests, selected store, favorites, and consent version.
• Shopping data: store-specific cart items, notes, completed trip history, and recipe mappings. These are shopping-planning records, not orders or purchases.
• AI usage records: feature, model/prompt version, token counts, estimated cost, quota status, and timestamps. We do not retain raw private prompts or uploaded label images in long-term analytics.
• Support information: information you choose to send when contacting support.
• Website information: an email address if you contact us or use an available signup form.

Camera, photos, and label analysis

Barcode recognition and text extraction run on your device first. Forkr sends a cropped, reduced-resolution image only after you explicitly request AI label analysis. The image is used to answer that request and is not retained as a public catalog image or in long-term analytics. Historic scans are never uploaded automatically.

How we use information

We use information to authenticate accounts, sync stores and carts, personalize deterministic rankings and recipes, provide requested AI analysis, enforce quotas and abuse controls, maintain security, provide support, and comply with law. We do not use personal data for advertising.

Service providers and disclosures

Cloudflare hosts the API, relational catalog data, licensed images, queues, and access-controlled administration. OpenAI processes only AI requests sent through our backend. Apple provides account authentication. We may disclose limited information when required by law, to protect the service or users, or in a business transfer subject to this policy. We do not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising.

Retention and security

Account data remains while your account is active. When you delete your account, active sessions are revoked and linked profile, preferences, carts, favorites, and trip history are deleted from active systems. Limited encrypted backups and security/deletion audit records may remain for a short operational or legally required period before expiry. We use encrypted transport, access controls, rotating sessions, and encryption for sensitive provider tokens.

Your choices

You can export a JSON copy of your account and delete your account from Account in the app. You may also contact tom@forkr.ai. You can deny camera access and still use catalog search, recipes, and carts. See our account-deletion instructions.

Children and health information

Forkr is not intended for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information. Dietary and allergen preferences may be health-related. Forkr provides informational guidance only, not medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. Always verify packaging and consult a qualified professional when appropriate.

Changes and contact

We may update this policy as the service changes. We will update the effective date and provide additional notice when legally required. Questions or privacy requests may be sent to tom@forkr.ai.
